The distribution of students into groups with different amounts of physical activity in physical education classes, in Ukraine, is regulated by the order of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine N 518/674, by conducting a Rufier test.

This test is a screening test, that is, it is a simplified test for assessing the reaction of the cardiovascular system (and only it) to physical activity, allows in a short time to assess a large number of children and weed out those that need additional examination and more detailed assessment.

The Ruthier test is not a diagnosis, and it is not logical to rely only on it when distributing students, in addition, the Ruthier index is not constant, it can change during the day and is influenced by many factors, such as stress, excitement, physical activity, room temperature, weather conditions and the like.

In addition, it is necessary first of all to evaluate all the parameters of the sample: and the initial indicators of the pulse, the degree of increase in the pulse on load and the rate of recovery of the pulse. It is also necessary to take into account the age characteristics of the child and the magnitude of the range of heart rate indicators, which are the norm for different age categories.

Also, in paragraph 11 of the specified order, it is prescribed that after the examination, the physical culture group can be changed, regardless of the Rufier index, both in the direction of weakening the loads and in the direction of strengthening.

The distribution of students into groups is also influenced by the presence of diseases that are not reflected in the Rufier test, in particular: neurological, ophthalmological, orthopedic, nephrological, endocrinological, some cardiac diseases, and the like. These diseases, despite the good indicators of the Rufier index, affect the level of permissible loads.

That is why it is necessary that an experienced specialist who knows all the age characteristics of children and is able to take into account all the nuances and details, can find an individual approach to each child, is involved in the distribution of students.
